Grief and loss are a part of the human condition. Grief is typically considered to be brought on by the death of a loved one, but can also be triggered by any significant life-altering loss (such as a divorce or the loss of a job). Grief is a natural response to loss, but that doesn’t make it easy to deal with. Symptoms of grief may include sadness, loneliness, anger, denial, depression and a myriad of other thoughts and feelings. There is no “normal” amount of time for grief to pass, but if you find that your grief is not improving over time or that it is interfering with your everyday life, you may want to consider seeking professional help. A qualified grief counselor can help you to cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s grief experts today.
Asking for help is one of the most challenging things to do for ourselves, but it is one of the best ways of self-investing. When we physically do not feel well, we reach out to our doctors or nurses for support because we think that is normal. When we do not feel well mentally, it can give us a sense of not feeling normal, and while everyone's story is different, it is the same because we all have one.

I view my clients as the experts of their own lives, experience(s), and self. I believe we each carry the "answer(s)" we need most within, but are not always taught how to get there or how to tune into ourselves. During our time together, you will be given an opportunity to explore and "be with" yourself in potentially deeper and new ways. I believe the exploration of self is interwoven with the unfolding of our life.

Currently, I offer in person and online sessions! I am passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent individuals! A large percentage of my clients consist of couples in which one person identifies as neurodivergent and the other partner identifies as neurotypical. I work with people who are seeking support for mismatched desire, sexual anxiety, sensory challenges, communication challenges, and difficulty identifying/managing their emotions.
Our clients are our priority. We see ourselves as collaborative in our approach to providing wellness to our clients. As a group practice, we are able to diversify our specialties and expertise as we work together with the client to provide the support and services that are needed. With nine clinicians in this practice, we have an array of specialties, expertise, life experiences, and individual differences that make us able to fit most of the needs a client may have.

Clients find me when worried their trauma will affect parenting. They come after violating or confusing births or while planning the impossibly 'perfect’ birth. Some arrive postpartum- feeling trapped, sad, anxious, & resentful (and then ashamed by their feelings). Folx show up feeling wildly reactive despite heroic efforts to chill, or when realizing that parenting pokes at every wound they didn’t even know they carried. Therapists come to shore up when worn down by life as a parent & healer.

I enjoy facilitating reconnection from a place of playfulness and open curiosity. The types of clients I typically work with are those struggling with identity, family wounds, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, LGBTQA+ issues, relational struggles, and those who do not feel they fit into a prescribed box.
You may feel entrenched in old, ineffective patterns that are difficult to break. You may feel confused or directionless due to unexpected crisis. You may be adjusting to a change in your physical, mental, or social abilities. Or you may feel that something is wrong without even knowing what the problem is. I provide mental health counseling for individuals in the Portland area so they can navigate these kinds of transitions and answer their inner call for change.
There are so many reasons why people seek therapy. It could be a life transition, anxiety, depression, divorce, blended families or tough teenagers. Sometimes in life people lose a sense of who they truly are and seek to find what more accurately reflects them. Overall, most people are looking for a space to process and make meaning of life experiences, behaviors and reactivity. I have been fortunate to work with people of these life experiences.

You’re feeling stuck in familiar patterns of shame and self-criticism, and it’s hard to tap into your strengths when you need them most. Whether it's the weight of anxiety or the impact of prejudice and discrimination, especially toward the LGBTQ+ community, it feels overwhelming and you feel vulnerable and out-of-touch with your own voice. You’re ready for help and deserve support as you take steps toward healing and growth—you don’t have to go through this alone.

I work closely with clients who wish to reduce feelings of distress, improve their relationships, and feel empowered to problem solve. I see people as part of their ‘systems’; their history, family, culture, beliefs, current relationships and jobs…it’s an ecology, so any changes can improve the whole. I also enjoy working with families with members of all ages to increase communication and feelings of safety and acceptance through an attachment based, emotionally focused lens.
the solution of the problem is always an individual one," wrote CG Jung. We can address whatever is causing you distress, including social or interpersonal behavior patterns that have not been working, or family of origin issues. I will help you to assimilate and integrate the problems, and/or otherwise painful emotions. Together we will help you move toward psychological wholeness and spiritual integrity.
Healing is a brave and loving pursuit, but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel daunting to turn over the stones of grief and self-denial. We heal and grow not in a straight line, but in a spiral: a movement back & forth, from darkness to light, and the path can seem overgrown and difficult to move through. There might be upheaval, pain, grief, and moments of darkness to sift through and understand. The good news is that no matter what has brought you here, you don't have to navigate this alone.
