The clients I work with tend to be really good at being who others want them to be, and may find it difficult to identify and meet their own needs. You do yoga or other self-care practices, yet they feel like one more task on your to-do list and don’t seem to offer meaningful relief from the drumbeat of anxiety in your head. You feel confused that you do all the things that are supposed to lead to happiness and success, yet inside your body it feels like things are on fire.

Most of my clients experience some degree of distress and dissatisfaction with their relationship to food, which is often connected to broader patterns of self-criticism and shame. Therapy may be for you if you find yourself frequently thinking about food, yet find mealtimes stressful or overwhelming, you judge yourself for how you look and fear everyone else does too, and feel like no one really 'gets' how you feel inside.

Maybe you feel like you don't have a good idea of how you even appear, your appearance seemingly shifting from one moment to the next, a string that controls how good or bad your day will be. Maybe you feel caught in a cycle of the next diet or next skincare product, just waiting for the thing that will make you feel like you can inhabit your own skin. I'm here to offer a different way, and love helping people find an easier relationship to themselves and their bodies.

I am highly relational in my work with clients, and I strive to create a space where clients feel deeply known, seen, and understood. I believe that in the context of such a relationship, hopefulness and change organically take place. I foster a therapy environment where clients can feel seen, valued, and understood. I see therapy as a collaboration between your lived expertise and my clinical expertise, and value the opportunity to get to know you and your story.

As a therapist trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I'm skilled at helping clients contextualize, understand, and manage unwanted behaviors and difficult emotions. Many of my clients tend to be people who experience this world, and their emotions, intensely. DBT is a tool I bring into sessions to help clients develop confidence in their own abilities to be with difficulty emotions and build more effective relationships with the people in their lives that matter.

As a therapist trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I tend to pay close attention to what really matters to my clients. Using client-identified values, or the things that make life worth living, as a central guide, I help clients close the gap between their current life circumstances and where they want to be.
