About My Clients
I love working with a variety of clients including those with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD/ Autism, LGBTQIA+ populations, personality disorders, and ethical non-monogamy. I employ a number of modalities within a trauma-informed lens including trauma EMDR, CBT, DBT, and person centered techniques. I am very passionate about serving the LGBTQIA+ community, advocating for trans and queer rights, and increasing access to gender affirming care.
My Background and Approach
After working as a music therapist in inpatient mental health for many years, I felt a strong pull to engage more with higher education to better serve my clients, and attained my master's of science in clinical mental health counseling. I have centered my practice around trauma informed care, and integrate this into a range of modalities such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, IFS (parts work), narrative therapy, and somatic approaches. I believe in a direct approach focused on a strong rapport and authenticity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have centered my practice around serving the LGBTQIA+ community, and in addition to working to provide increased access to gender affirming care, and advocating for LGBTQIA rights and acceptance, I also make efforts to actively engage with the LGBTQIA+ community and seek new resources for my clients. I am also passionate about equity and social change regarding BIPOC individuals and indigenous people, and actively engage with organizations that support these communities such as Inclusive Therapists, and ACLU. My goal as a practitioner is to continue to grow in terms of my understanding of other cultures and communities in order to provide a safe space for healing and advocacy, while decolonizing the mental health industry,
