My Background and Approach
I received my Masters of Science from Portland State University and am currently fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor, and provisionally licensed as a Marriage and Family Counselor. I am also currently in a program for Sex Therapy at the University of Michigan and working on ASSECT certification. My approach is eclectic in that I very much like to tailor the counseling experience to who my client is and what will work best for their personality and background, but some common approaches I use are CBT, Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Gottman Couples Counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is my personal belief that every single person could benefit from the therapeutic process, and that we all have things that could be helpful to learn about ourselves. I am an avid supporter of the kink community and believe that all lifestyles are valid and important, as long as it's not hurting anyone and is making you happy. I have had great joy and success in working with the polyamorous community and the intense relational components and self-work that goes into being successful in open relationships. I believe that all humans have value, and that the honor of helping someone realize and acknowledge their value and potential is one of the best honors there is.
