About My Clients
I am committed to working with populations that by virtue of their gender identity, race, social status, sexual orientations, & diverse life experiences have been subjected to profound lessened life chances that carry with them substantial trauma. It is clients with multiple & complex traumas that I am most invested in helping find balance & self-efficacy.
My Background and Approach
My professional training includes EMDR as well as training in couples counseling, substance abuse, and motivational interviewing. I also have advanced sexuality training and I can provide sex therapy and sex education to clients. I have a special focus on helping to heal the intersections of sexuality, identity, and trauma where so many of us have been hurt. I believe we are all experts of our own lives and we deserve to be understood as we are. Sometimes the most powerful change happens because someone truly sees us. I strive to be a compassionate witness for all my clients. In my practice I emphasize resiliency, self-efficacy, and acceptance for each client I work with. My goal is meet you where you're at and then we work together to move toward a goal you design.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I continue to work part-time at Self Serve as a Sex Educator and co-host regularly occurring classes for survivors of sexual trauma. My personal identities include being a fat, queer, polyam, cisgender, femme woman who uses She/Her pronouns.
