About My Clients
Do you feel like your past is haunting you? Are you frequently anxious or upset? Do you avoid going certain places because you just don't feel safe? Scary and painful experiences often change people. I want you to know that it isn't your fault, you are not alone, and the damage is not irreparable. You can feel better about yourself, have healthier relationships, and be more comfortable when venturing out into the world. There are treatments that have been proven to help. There is hope.
My Background and Approach
I consider myself extremely fortunate in that I have always known what I wanted to do. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a therapist. I have been helping people for nearly two decades and I have extensive training in several evidence-based practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I will help you understand yourself differently, develop new skills, HEAL, and create a life worth living. You can feel better, and I can help. If you think we might be a good fit, please do not hesitate to reach out and schedule a free consultation (email is typically best). Also, if I do not accept your insurance, you may be able to seek reimbursement and collect out-of-network benefits for our sessions. I look forward to hearing from you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I love my job because it affords me the opportunity to witness true strength and resilience, help people reclaim their lives, and build brighter futures. In general, I believe our life story is key, and how we interpret our past experiences has great impact on what happens in our present (and future). Therefore, to solve today’s problems, I tend to want to heal yesterday’s wounds, and then help you to create a better tomorrow. My approach is normally structured, but I can also be flexible. I believe that each client is unique, life happens, and safety is paramount. My job is to meet you where you are at, support you in the moment, and help you get to where you want to be (when you're ready). Ultimately, I have worked hard and continue to work hard because I believe that the immense responsibility inherent in the counseling relationship requires a therapist to be an individual who constantly strives for excellence. I believe that my clients deserve the very best.
