When we accept ourselves we can more fully connect with others and enjoy being present in our daily lives. Would you like to treat yourself with loving kindness? What I Specialize In
I specialize in treating trauma using EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) therapy but also use a variety of other treatment methods that I integrate to ensure you get the best possible care. My work is gentle and often includes dealing with inner child issues, past trauma, and persistent negative self-talk. I use and teach mindfulness.
Why I Became a Therapist
I became a therapist to use my life experience as a childhood abuse survivor and a Veteran to help others. I combine my training in evidenced based practices with my experience as a survivor to guide others. I believe that my story helps inform the way I work with my clients and is a powerful example that healing is possible. That we can not only survive but thrive and have a very fullfilling life once we have dealt with our painful experiences. I show up in the therapy room as a real person and invite you to do the same. I believe my openness allows clients to feel seen and heard in ways they may not have before and opens the door towards practicing being your authentic self.
