About My Clients
I am comfortable working with clients who are seeking help for stress, anxiety, depression, loss, or trauma. I have extensive experience working with relational, systemic, and complex trauma as well as LGBTQ+ identified individuals. I have worked with many people who are experiencing chronic health conditions and/or systemic or interpersonal harm.
My Background and Approach
If you are looking at my profile, I imagine you've been struggling for some time. You may not be able to put your finger on it, but you know you can't do it alone. That's where I'm happy to be of help. I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and a deep reverence for my clients. Guided by a strong belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship and the effectiveness of collaboration, I use an eclectic blend of several different approaches. You are the expert on your own life and I honor being able to walk alongside you to light the way as you navigate the challenging and beautiful terrain of life and find healing. I have a Masters degree in Counseling and have a strong background in providing therapy in nonprofit settings, mostly working in HIV counseling. I have additional experience in a group practice environment working with those who have been impacted by trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In the wise words of Audre Lorde, “Pain is important: how we evade it, how we succumb to it, how we deal with it, and how we transcend it…” However pain or distress have found you, I hope to help you find relief through creativity, compassion, humor, and appreciation for your unique humanity.
