About My Clients
I believe that when a person feels valued, supported and truly heard they can begin to forge a path that will lead them to self-fulfillments and deeper, more satisfying relationships with others. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression and mood disorders, as well as general lifestyle, career and relationship stress. Clients are involved in the dual process of creating intentions, and fostering change and growth. My style is psychodynamic, with a focus on empathy and connection.
My Background and Approach
I have two decades of experience working with adults and children in the Chicago and north suburban region. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and graduated from the University of Chicago with my Master's Degree in 2007. Since then, I have received post-graduate training in working with anxiety, trauma, men's issues, women's issues, and children's mental health. My approach is psychodynamic with an attachment lens. I am LGBTQ-allied and culturally-competent.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In addition to working in private practice as a therapist, I have 15 years of experience working in a non-profit setting as a Director or Programming, helping refugees and migrants, as well as families impacted by homelessness, poverty and cycles of abuse. I am a former Peace Corps volunteer, and a lover of travel, the arts, and culture.
