Hi, everyone! I'm an AuDHD therapist (meaning I have both ADHD and autism) who loves reading and playing his guitar or piano.

About My Clients

My clients are cis and trans pre-teens, teens, and adults diagnosed with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, or other learning disabilities. They often have difficulties fitting in at school or other social environments as well as having impulsivity or significant anger. This often means my clients are lonely or feel ostracized/unwelcome in the world and have difficulties expressing themselves how they want to. My clients are often high-achievers or academically-gifted as well.

My Background and Approach

I'm someone who grew up feeling distant from my peers and unwelcomed by society, just for being myself. I know what it's like to feel like you're on the outside looking in or often ask "What's wrong with me?" Growing up autistic and having ADHD came with a lot of challenges that I didn't know were challenges for the majority of people. My goal is to give back to my community and offer a welcoming and validating space for all my clients where they can be as angry, happy, or disappointed as they want. School and life are hard enough already, but when you pair that with a form of neurodivergence, it makes life that much harder. My room is very sensory-accommodating and is supplied with multiple sensory/fidget toys for my clients to use at their leisure. I'm a naturally goofy person, so I like to let my personality into sessions to make my clients more comfortable and at ease. My client's are always encouraged to explore their interests in session and foster their individuality.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Neurodivergence is a disability in all facets of the word. Our society was crafted to honor people who think and do things a certain way that does not benefit a set of others. Capitalism and hustle-culture have a large part to play in how we approach our school systems as well as how we determine success in the United States. In my office, I focus on what my client determines their version of success to be and encourage them to think for themselves. Working with the neurodivergent community means I work with a significant proportion of the LGBTQIA+ community. 15-35% of autistic people identify as being a sexual minority. While I am not a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am a staunch ally and am LGBTQIA+ affirming in my approach. The most important thing to me in my work is making my client feel safe and like they can be the most authentic version of themselves with me. If I sound like a fit for your child or your family, please contact me!
