About My Clients
I primarily work with people who have experienced trauma. Trauma can look like very different things. It could be classic trauma such as assault, but it can also be the loss of a relationship, your parents’ divorce years ago, or your work bully. If "that thing that happened" is still bothering you, that counts. Trauma may present with PTSD symptoms. But sometimes it feels like anxiety, depression, or low self esteem. Have something that happened you’re struggling with? This is your time to heal.
My Background and Approach
I am dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental, trust-filled space for clients to express themselves and being there to walk beside them as they heal and grow. I want clients to know they are not alone as they learn to manage and overcome mental health challenges. I value social equality and justice for all people in all walks of life and seek to hold space for those values to extend into my interactions with others in both personal and professional settings. You'll find a safe space with me no matter what beliefs you hold, what culture you come from, or how you live. I'm here to support you exactly as you are. My love for spontaneity and creativity leads me to utilize many mediums in my sessions and explore many types of therapy including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) Psychotherapy (“Talk therapy”), Person-Centered therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about and open to working with individuals from all walks of life. One of the most important things to know about me is that I will never judge you for any reason. My sessions with clients are a safe space where we can have an open dialogue about anything at any time. I am here to be your team mate and your guide as you walk this journey of improving your mental health. I have a deep empathy for people struggling with mental health issues, since I have also struggled with my own mental health issues, and working through those and learning to deal with them is part of what helped me decide to become a therapist. Helping other people through this sometimes tough but extremely rewarding process is what I am meant to be doing with my life and is something I'm deeply passionate about.
