About My Clients
My life experiences and training have left me with particular interest in working alongside individuals with depression, anxiety, those going through life transitions, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and supporting people who have experienced trauma.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor, with a combined 10 years of experience working as a mental health therapist and wellness coach. I have two bachelors in psychology and philosophy from the University of Oregon, a master in clinical mental health counseling from George Fox University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Foster and Adoptive family therapy. I have worked with families, adolescents, adults and older adults with a wide range of concerns including PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, adoption, LGBTQ related concerns, weight loss and ADHD. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I utilize a holistic approach combining trauma informed client centered therapy, brain based approaches, and dialectic behavioral therapy with art, movement and lifestyle changes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone can grow and change at any time in their life. I believe our brains are not always our best allies and learning how to work around old neurological patterns can significantly improve our lives. I believe in kindness and respect for all humans because ultimately, i believe we all have imperfections and flaws and we are all, in one way or another, trying to figure out how to live our lives in the best way possible.
