About My Clients
I’m passionate about supporting clients around complex trauma (CPTSD), neurodivergence, eating disorders/disordered eating related concerns, chronic illness, living in a bigger body, and burnout related to invisible identities. I also love working with couples who want to strengthen their connection & ability to support each other. I especially enjoy supporting interracial and neurodivergent couples. I provide telehealth therapy only at this time.
My Background and Approach
I aim to make therapy feel warm, safe, and inviting. Therapy sessions with me can involve delving deep into your emotions and experiences, once you feel ready to do so. And when you need a break, feel free to tell me about your pets, your plants, or hit me with your best dad joke. We’ll go at your pace and prioritize your needs and capacity. If we meet barriers or resistance, I’ll be curious and help you to explore them so that we can move towards your goals. To me, therapy is a collaborative process - you are the expert on your experience; I bring a fresh perspective, tools, and different ways of understanding your story. I view it like a big ball of yarn: you’ve been pulling at different ends for a while, you’re tired, you’re overwhelmed - I’m here to help you take a step back, re-evaluate, and then have a second set of hands to help you untangle all those knots.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My lived experience informs my desire to do this work. I exist within so many intersections of identity - I’ve never been someone who could fit neatly into just one box. I have experienced firsthand the pressure to present as more “normal,” more palatable to others. I have also experienced the confusion, loneliness, and complexity of moving through this world with invisible identities. Over the course of my journey as a human and as a clinician, I have learned to identify and challenge the “shoulds” instilled in me by intergenerational trauma and social norms in order to take up space. To be seen in your authentic self is incredibly hard and vulnerable work, but it is also joyful and something everyone deserves. I want to help you truly understand your story and how you got to where you are. Once we can understand that, we can explore how to get you from where you are to where you want to be. My favorite thing as a clinician is helping people to reconnect to joy.
